Last year ACS had a budget of $21.4 million and yet 5,000 cats and dogs were euthanized and 100,000 strays (conservative estimate by ACS) were left to suffer and roam the streets.
This year ACS has a budget of $28.5 Million and has lowered their live release rate goal.
Why does more budget mean that more dogs and cats are mandated to die?
Why does ACS have such a robust budget and yet the actual results of the dollars spent are proven ineffective and unsatisfactory?
Let's make sure ACS doesn’t waste taxpayer money another year in a row.
Make the world of difference in the lives of San Antonio’s stray animal population and the dogs and cats at risk of being killed at ACS.
We’ll keep you up to date with community events, important info and ways to help.
Animals cannot attend a City Council meeting and speak for themselves, so we MUST be their voice.
Together, let’s tell ACS:
We do not support the killing of healthy animals
Failure to investigate animal abuse and neglect is unethical
Leaving strays on the street to get hit by cars, die due to extreme temperatures, or to suffer from malnutrition is cruel and inhumane
Denying adequate veterinary care to an injured animal because it’s on the kill list is unacceptable
There are a few ways you can make a difference:
1. Subscribe to get updates on community events
2. Attend a Public Comment Session + address the Council
3. Leave a Public Comment message for lawmakers
We are on a mission to modify the way San Antonio treats its stray cat and dog population. We do this because we believe that the lives of animals matters.
This means that we do everything from getting involved in local policymaking, to taking in strays off the street and getting them vet care.
We appreciate any donations to aid us in our mission.
